‘Frica’ is one of my rather deeply considered passion projects where I aimed to demonstrate the beauty of African Art.
Alignment Break.
Problem;
There just weren’t many websites that really aimed to showcase this particular form of art and its inherent beauty. A beauty that some may even call a bit rugged. African art very often uses stuff like terracota. Terracota is earthy, grounded and timeless. The aim was to give off that ‘terracota’ vibe in this project, of course using the raw materials.
Role;
As both the designer and developer for this project. The emphasis was on the core values that are present in african art. not necesarily going go for an editorial style or ‘Ultra Smooth Animations’. I used transitions and design techniques that fit Africa’s art style.
Framed Shots;
A rather lovely collection containing and exploring my best shots for the project. It’s basically a display of the parts I could very often look back on and say,
“Well that’s fire”

This website featured alot of design techniques that aren’t necessary in my go—to art style. But were used regardless. All in order to express an idea. This website was a self training I put myself under to learn how to do what’s best not neccesarily what I would like to do.
Coming Up.
